Blow by blow of the status quo.

Happy Wednesday all my Writing Piazza Peeps. I hope your week is going fabulous!

Because I’m sure you’re all wondering, I did send out those queries I mentioned last week so no need to hound me about them. Cause I’m sure you were all just itching to do that. 🙂

This week has been pretty status quo for me. Just working on formatting my novella. I’m trying to get a cover done for it too so I can get this bad boy published. I haven’t had much time to write new stuff but I did come up with an idea connected to the sequel to The Maladroit that I’m super excited about. I will be announcing that idea soon so keep an eye out for that. I can hardly wait to tell you what it is!

I’ve been doing a lot of critiquing in my critique groups. It’s so great to have a group you can get honest feedback from. It also helps me keep my editing game sharp when I have to offer suggestions to other writers. So all-in-all I’ve been in super editing mode.

I’ve been doing a bit of crafting as well in preparation for my fellas’ birthday party. They asked for a Harry Potter theme and I was totally excited to plan that for them. I’ve been working for a while now on decorations and what-not for their party. If you’re interested in that at all you can see some of my pictures on Instagram @thewritingpiazza or check out my other blog Piazza Parties. I’ve got a lot of ideas and how to’s on there that are a lot of fun.

And of course I’m constantly working on new guest interviews. I love all the helpful information these interviews provide. My guests are all published authors or people who work in the publishing industry. They have generously agreed to let me interview them and I take full advantage of the opportunity, I pick their brain for as long as they’ll let me. They have so many helpful tips I can’t even begin to tell you what a great resource those interviews are. Not to mention it’s really interesting to get that behind the scenes glimpse into the life of authors and editors and such. If you haven’t checked those interviews out yet, you really should. You can find them HERE.

I’m also really looking forward to reading the short stories everyone (hopefully all you writers out there are participating) submits for The Writing Piazza’s short story contest. If you don’t know what that is or need a refresher on the instructions, check out This Link. I have read a couple of the entries and so far they look great! I’m looking forward to reading more, so get those in, you only have ten more days and you don’t have to be a published writer to enter. Winner gets their piece featured here on The Writing Piazza (along with the 2nd and 3 place runners up) and first place also gets a $25 Amazon gift card. And who doesn’t love Amazon! June 20th is the last day to submit them so get those emails to thewritingpiazza@gmail.com asap. 🙂

This week’s post is short and sweet, I’ve got some writing and reading to do. So finish up those short stories and don’t forget we’ve got a new guest interview going up on Friday. Have a great rest of the week!

Until we meet again.

I’ve submitted mine already! I can’t wait to hear what you think. Would you by any chance do a post about what you liked and didn’t like about our stories? I would like some feedback from you, and advice on what to do better with my writing. Even if you don’t do anything like that (which is totally understandable, because some people may get hurt feelings and what not) I’d still like to hear what you would have to say about my entry. But whatever works for you 🙂
