EINs and Logos and Blood Moons Oh My!

Things are heating up with the preparations for the book launch of The Maladroit. I have started my book launch team The Maladroit lieutenants! If you’d like more information about all the great stuff you’ll get to be a part of, check it out HERE. If you’d like to join us on our book launch adventure because you already know how awesome it will be, then email me at thewritingpiazza@gmail.com! We’ve got fun things going already and it’s just going to get better!

I’m still awaiting the book cover, my book launch team will get the first peek at the cover once I finally get a finished version of it completed. I also was approved to participate in the Preassigned Control Number (PCN) program that will help my publishing company get Library of Congress numbers for my books. So thrilling!ย Ok, maybe it’s just the nerdy side of me that’s excited about this. I’ll just tuck my geek back in, sorry if it was showing there for a minute.

I’m also planning on getting an EIN for tax time purposes. If you’re an indie author you should consider getting one too, your tax adviser will love you for making their job a little easier. If you’d like more tax tips geared towards authors, make sure you’re signed up for The Writing Piazza’s newsletter. This month’s edition will be chock full of helpful stuff on the topic of taxes with writers specifically in mind.

The EIN also means I would be able to hire employees in the future. That makes me stoked beyond measure to think of growing my little publishing company into something more than just me!

I also had a logo designed for my Publishing Company. They sent three options along with a 3D version that goes well with my two favorites. I will definitely be using the 3D one, though I’m not sure which of the two of my favorites I will be using. I have left it up to my wonderful followers on Instagram to help me pick.

I think that pretty much sums up my week. Thanks for joining me, I love our weekly chats, they’re one of the highlights of my week. I would say THE highlight of my week but I have two extremely cute fellas that just can’t be topped! In fact, we had a particularly memorable evening watching the Super Blood Moon on Sunday. Complete with smores, funny pictures and lots of laughter. So I hope you will be alright knowing you made it near the top of my list. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope I’m somewhere near the top of your list as well. Have a lovely rest of the week!

Until we meet again.

  • Sounds like the road to being published is long, difficult, and confusing! How do you manage to make it sound so simple and easy? Who helps you to understand most of these things? Best wishes ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€ <3

It is a long and difficult road, I’m just trying to help make it easier for other authors by writing about my experiences and what I’ve learned. I do a lot of research and talk to a lot of writers who have published. I’m a firm believer in not reinventing the wheel if I don’t have to. I hope people arr finding this stuff useful.ย
