Getting my to-do list to-done.

So much going on I feel like I don’t have enough hours in the day to get it all done. (Notice I don’t even have time for a proper hello to all you lovelies!) And with the fellas out of school, I’ve had even more to do each day with entertaining two energetic young lads on top of everything else. I’ve been working on revising The Maladroit. I’m hoping to get that out via CreateSpace as soon as possible. Spoiler alert, it may have a sneak preview of the sequel at the end. Eeek! (or as my autocorrect likes to say “derek!”)

Aside from working on that, I’ve also started another blog (because I just don’t have enough going on right?) but this one is to chronicle all the crazy, fun crafts I’m doing for the fellas’ upcoming Harry Potter Party! So if crafts and/or Harry Potter pirate-partyand/or parties sound fun to you, feel free to check it out over at Piazza Parties, it’s like Pizza Parties but with an extra A for awesome! Sorry, was that cheesy? Was my delivery off? Well, anyway you slice it, it’s gonna be a fun blog so you should check it out. Ok, I won’t persist with pizza puns (but no promises on alliterations).

Moving on, I’ve found a couple new publishers that accept unsolicited manuscripts so I will be querying them just as soon as I get a spare minute or two. It’s at the top of my to-do list. But if you’re anything like me, your to-do list ends up getting to-done out of order. So keep me honest and if I don’t report back to you next week that I’ve queried them, then yell at me to get my behind in gear.

I’ve also been working on guest interviews. The past few weeks have been awesome and I’m super excited for this Friday’s interview with award winning author Braxton Cosby! So be sure you stop by on Friday to read that interview. And if you have suggestions for other published authors or other people in the publishing industry whom you’d like to read an interview about, let me know and I’ll see if I can’t line something up.

Finally I just wanted to mention again (in case you missed it) that we are doing a Short Story Contest here on The Writing Piazza. You can find the details for that HERE. So get those creative juices flowing (and tell your creative writer friends) because I want those stories to come rollin’ in!

I haven’t been reading as much lately as I usually do and so I’m looking forward to getting your stories. I always get so inspired and motivated by seeing other artists practicing their craft. And the winner gets a $25 gift card to Amazon and bragging rights with their piece posted here on The Writing Piazza for all to bask in its glory. Second and third place runners up will also have their piece posted here and will get the massive bragging rights that comes with being published by The Writing Piazza. 🙂 (It may or may not just translate into me bragging about how awesome you are, but still, totally worth it!) So get to work, stories are due by midnight, June 20th EST. To see the complete set of rules click HERE.

Well, I think that about sums up my writing week. I hope you have a fabulous day and don’t forget to come check out that interview on Friday, oh, oh, oh, and write a short story for our contest. Oh, oh, oh and check out my party planning blog. Looks like you’ve got a busy week now too. 😉 I guess I’ll let you get to it.

Until we meet again.

  • I’m sure you’ve found them, but try Solstice publishing. I have no connection with them–apart from the fact they’ve published three of my books, so obviously I’m a little biased. I’ll put a link in, if your site will allow.
Good luck with the writing, I enjoy reading your blog and am amazed at how much you manage to get done and write as well.

Thanks for the tip Peter, I will definitely look into them. 🙂 I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog. It warms the cuckolds of this cold heart to hear such things! Yeah, I don’t know where that came from. I’m in a weird mood. But it really is nice to hear!
