Once more into the breach

Hello my fabulous TWPeeps! I have missed you so much since our last post. Sorry for the little break but with the holidays and everything I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and needs to take a little hiatus from The Writing Piazza to recharge my batteries. Now here I am, refreshed and ready to go, so once more into the breach!

I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know I certainly did! I used to think I enjoyed Christmas, but then I had kids and never knew excitement until I could see it on the faces of my fellas. My heart was truly overflowing. I am so grateful to God for the two greatest gifts I have ever received, my two little men.

Now, we are facing a new year which is the time when people start to evaluate their lives and make resolutions. I’m sure you know what my resolutions will be, to get this crazy novella published and keep working of finding and agent for my full length novel (and the series beyond).

Along that route I have been sending out a number of emails to line up reviews for The Maladroit. I’m working on a blog tour for it as well. Once I get those emails out I will get my book formatted and a cover made and finally, finally publish that sucker! Huzzah! I know it’s taken me a lot longer than I originally projected but if I’m being honest it’s because I’m afraid. I’m afraid I will only sell a few copies if any at all.

Here in this point of infinite potential, it feels so safe and sure. But once I put that book out there, it can fail, it can flounder, it can prove to be a steaming pile of, well, you get the idea. So I keep putting off my publishing date, safe and warm in the pre-pub potential bliss. But now is the time for boldness, for being brave. It’s like I tell my fellas, courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s the continuation in the face of that fear. So I will muster up every ounce of my courage and finally get this book out there. Stand strong with me my friends, your kinds words and friendship are what have helped me get this far, they truly mean the world to me!

I will keep you informed of my progress, and soon you will be reading that I finally, finally, published my first book!

Until we meet again.

  • Go Girl, you can do it!! We are all pulling for you!! I can’t wait to read your book and say I personally know the author.

  • Can’t wait to read the book! Keep going, I’m here cheering you on with everyone else! Good luck and good wishes! Also, the short story is coming along slowly but surely! 🙂

    Jess
